1115 - LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Board of Education strongly endorses the concept of a leadership team comprised of the Board, the Superintendent, building principals, the Treasurer, and other central office administrators.

The concept of the leadership team is embodied in the belief that all administrators should be involved in the decision making process that constitute administrative planning, policy recommendations, and regulation development.

This type of relationship can only be accomplished can only be accomplished if all members of the leadership team have a deep respect and full appreciation of the role and concerns of each of the other team members. The leadership team relationship requires a deep commitment to the concept and a willingness to place the interest of the management team above individual self interest.

For the leadership team to succeed each member must:

 A.cooperate with the instructional team, parents, students and nonteaching personnel, in arriving at clearly stated goals and purposes for the District;

 B.recognize that ideas and projects are better realized through cooperative effort rather than individual judgment;

 C.subordinate individual self interest to the goal of team success;

 D.appreciate the unique skill, expertise or perspective each member of the team brings to bear on each issue;

 E.recognize the mutual obligation of team members to each other the District; such obligation includes the mutual sharing of thought, problems, needs, and responsibilities.

All members of the leadership team need to keep in mind that their primary goal is to provide optimum educational opportunities for all the students who reside in the School District.
