4411 - STEP PLACEMENT FOR NONUNION EMPLOYEES
At the time of hire, each employee must be assigned a step placement which is approved by the DIISD Board of Education and recorded in the minutes of the meeting in which the step placement was approved. The maximum credit which can be offered to a new employee will be five (5) years, for work experience related to the position for which they are employed. All salary grids will begin with step 0. Consequently an employee credited with five (5) years experience will be placed on step five (5) of the appropriate salary grid.
