9700.01 - ADVERTISING AND COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES
The DeWitt Board of Education, recognizing the opportunity that fund raising activities provide financial support to District programming does consent to advertising on District property, including facilities, equipment, and arenas when the proceeds are used for school purposes or for an activity connected with the schools. Such funds are to be managed by the District, reviewed annually
and are subject to all Board policies and laws.All advertising must be approved by the Building Administrator and Superintendent or designee. The following criteria will be followed in determining approval.
| A. | Advertising inside elementary (PK - 6) buildings and on the District's web page or via internal cable television is prohibited. | ||
| B. | Advertising must be age/topic appropriate and consistent with the educational philosophy of the District. | ||
| C. | Advertising may not be placed where exposure to students is primarily involuntary. | ||
| D. | Advertising must not be disruptive or damaging to District grounds or facilities. | ||
| E. | Advertising fees must be approved. | ||
| F. | The District reserves the right to remove advertisements. | ||
| G. | Revenues generated from advertising will be administered through the following process: |
| 1. | Generated funds to be used for program-related expenditures, not for personnel-related expenditures. Such funds can not be used to pay coaches, performers, etc. | |||
| 2. | Distribution of funds will be based on net revenue. | |||
| 3. | Funds will be distributed at a rate of 50% - 50%, between the group/team and the building/district. | |||
| 4. | All expenditure of funds must be approved. |
