7530D - CELLULAR PHONES
District-owned cellular phones may be issued to the following staff members upon approval of the Superintendent or designee:
| A. | Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent | ||
| B. | District Crisis Team Members | ||
| C. | Principals | ||
| D. | Directors | ||
| E. | Supervisors | ||
| F. | Coordinators | ||
| G. | Secretaries | ||
| H. | Maintenance | ||
| I. | Mechanics | ||
| J. | others as approved by the Superintendent in support of managing emergency and crisis situations |
The phones are to be used primarily for:
| A. | Managing emergency/crisis situations. | ||
| B. | Routine operation of the District when communicating with administration, other staff members, service/material suppliers, service providers, or parents concerning classroom, schools, or District activities provided for in current Board Policy. |

NOTE: |
Staff members issued a District owned cellular phone, to include Nextels with two-way direct connect, will be provided a copy of the monthly billing and usage statement. Each staff member will review the billing for any calls that are non-school related business (personal) and mark them to indicate such usage. |

If no additional cost is shown, or the total additional cost is $3.00 or less, you are to initial, date, and return the billing statement to the Secretary to the Supervisor of Transportation. |

If there is additional cost associated with the billing statement for the non-school related business (personal) that is $3.00 or greater in total additional charges, you are responsible to reimburse Delaware City Schools. Initial, date the billing statement, and make payment to Delaware City Schools, Treasurer, in the full amount of the additional charges. Return to the Secretary to the Supervisor of Transportation. |

All records are reviewed monthly by the Secretary to the Supervisor of Transportation. |
Telephones are not to be used:
| A. | to transact personal business or nonschool-related business; | ||
| B. | during classroom instructional time unless it is for an emergency or the call is an integral part of a learning activity; | ||
| C. | by students at any time unless specifically authorized by the teacher or principal for school related purposes only; | ||
| D. | during the driving of a school bus by the driver. The bus (vehicle) must be off the road in a parked condition, and the break must be fully set; | ||
| E. | for long distance or personal calls unless authorized by the appropriate supervisor you report to. |
