7460 - CONSERVATION OF NATURAL AND MATERIAL RESOURCES
The Board will require staff members and students to protect the environment in accordance with the following guidelines:
| A. | The Superintendent (or designee) shall convene an environmental impact committee to assist in developing and implementing the District plan. The committee will consist of a representative from each of the District's locations as well as the Director of Material and Human Resources and the Director of Facilities/Grounds/ Transportation. The committee will meet in the fall of each year to establish goals for the year and in the spring to evaluate those results and to formulate recommendations for further improvement. Committee members will also be charged with monitoring and tracking conservation activities and projects in the areas/buildings they represent. | ||
| B. | The District plan should provide for the recycling of such disposables as paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum cans/products, glass, toner cartridges, etc. to the extent that it is fiscally responsible. | ||
| C. | The Superintendent shall encourage, where possible, the use and purchase of recycled and/or environmentally friendly products in all departments. |
