4120 - EMPLOYMENT OF CLASSIFIED STAFF

The following guidelines are established for the interviewing and screening of employee candidates:

 A.Where specific openings exist in positions that could afford present employees an opportunity to be upgraded, such notice shall be posted in the schools of this District.

 B.Applications are to be made in writing to the Human/Material Resources office.

 C.Checking of credentials may include direct telephone calls to immediate supervisors of the person being considered.

 D.Applicants may be granted an interview if their credentials indicate they meet the criteria for the position.

In selecting personnel to fill established positions, the Human/Material Resources shall be responsible for selecting the person best qualified to fill each position in accordance with position specifications established by the Board. Each final candidate must, before working in the District, complete a DMA form with no positive indications that material assistance has been provided to a terrorist organization. Each final candidate also must pass a background check performed by the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

Upon employment, the Treasurer’s Office shall be responsible for submitting a copy of the W-4 form (or the form provided by the Department) to the Department of Human Services for each new employee, or any person who is rehired or returns to work after a lapse in pay.
