4115 - CONDITIONS FOR PRODUCTIVITY
It is our belief that each employee is more likely to reach maximum productivity when s/he works under these conditions:
| A. | Assignment to tasks for which s/he is competent. | ||
| B. | Continually challenged to improve performance through many techniques to include constructive supervision and encouragement to experiment with new ideas and learning strategies. | ||
| C. | Acknowledgement for good performance. | ||
| D. | Satisfaction that comes from making a worthwhile contribution to the goals of the school. | ||
| E. | Ready availability to technical and personal assistance as needed. | ||
| F. | Freedom to make decisions within his/her area of assignment, compatible with the organizational and unit guidelines, and knowing there will be support for those decisions. | ||
| G. | Knowledge of what is expected from his/her efforts and how well s/he is meeting those expectations. | ||
| H. | Regulations and directives which respect professional competence, maturity, and human dignity. | ||
| I. | Freed from distracting stresses - unreasonable criticism and uncertainties insofar as the school system can control those factors so that full attention can be given to his/her assigned responsibilities. |
Communications - Internal
We believe that the school system involving the efforts of many people functions best when all personnel are informed of the organization's major activities and concerns. There should be a continuous exchange of pertinent information among all elements of a school organization. Unfavorable attitudes may develop when employees are denied information which is essential for the performance of their respective assignments. Moral is enhanced when each employee is assured that his/her voice is willingly heard by those in positions of administrative authority. While each employee should feel free to bring his/her ideas and anxieties to the highest authority, it is expected that s/he will proceed through the recognized organization channels.
Business and Fiscal Affairs
The Board has a responsibility for assuring that the District's and State's investment in plant, facilities, and operational cost are protected and used wisely. While Board members do not expect to tend to business and fiscal affairs personally, they expect that the Superintendent will keep them informed through reports, oral and written, which will satisfy their decision-making responsibilities.
The Board also expects that the Superintendent will take the leadership responsibilities with the assistance of the Treasurer and other officers as designated, for developing and maintaining efficient and economical plans, compatible with statutory provisions.
