In order to retain well qualified substitutes for service in this District, the Board of Education will offer competitive compensation.

Substitutes employed on a day-to-day basis shall be paid on a per diem basis at a rate set annually (or periodically) by the Board.

A substitute employed for more than sixty (60) days in one specific position will be placed at the appropriate position on the salary schedule and will be eligible for fringe benefits and will, thereafter, be considered to be regularly employed.

Daily substitutes shall not earn sick leave nor be paid for days when students are not required to attend school.
