9700.02 - DISTRICT PUBLISHING STANDARDS
Scope
The Board of Education has determined the need across the entire District in the area of internal and external communication, media presentation, and support group tools for consistency of published articles.
Objective
It is in the interest of the District that the coherence be maintained between all District facilities administration, faculty, staff, student, and parental support groups, and others all inclusive. The consistent use of approved District mission statement, District logo - commonly referred to as the "TORCH", District mascot - commonly referred to as the "GOLDEN EAGLE", and others per review by a selected "standards" committee (see Accountability below) accepted by the Board and maintained by AG 9700.02.
The following are the adopted recommendations to be implemented for the 2007-2008 school year:
| A. | District logo used on external communications will be displayed in color. | ||
| B. | District logo used on internal communication will be displayed in black and white. | ||
| C. | Font for all District templates will be Helvetica with the font size of ten (10) - twelve (12). | ||
| D. | Pantone colors to be used are Yellow and Reflex Blue (samples to be found in AG 9700.02. | ||
| E. | District newsletter should be used to communicate District publishing standards and to provide contact information to help outside groups. | ||
| F. | All MHSAA sanctioned athletic uniform purchases must be approved by the Athletic Director. | ||
| G. | Only one mascot design shall be used for the entire District. | ||
| H. | No deviation from approved District mascot will be allowed unless approved by the designated "standards advisory group" as outlined in Accountability (below) of this policy. | ||
| I. | Performing Arts - "COMEDY EAGLE" and "TRAGEDY EAGLE" adopted as port of this policy. | ||
| J. | Only one master image will be issued for original printing. Making copies from a copier for original printing will not be acceptable. |
Accountability
The Board has established the Communications and Outreach Committee. Within the responsibilities of the committee will be the oversight of written requests for variances of established District publishing standards. A "standards advisory group" consisting of the Superintendent, one (1) member of each of the established Board committees, the building administrator of the affected facility or all administrator if deemed necessary, and one (1) community citizen at large. Final approval of all requested will be under the jurisdiction of the Board.
