Annual Organizational Meeting |
|
|
The Board shall be organized at the first meeting held in July of each year. The Board shall adopt a regular monthly meeting schedule by a vote of a majority of the members at the organizational meetings. |

|
There shall be posted at the central office of the School District, a notice of the schedule of meetings within ten (10) days after the organizational meeting. The notice and all notices of public meetings shall include the name, address, and the telephone number of the Board and the date, time and place of the meeting. The Board shall, by resolution, designate a person responsible for the posting of notices. |

Committees |
|
|
Committees of Board members shall, when specifically charged to do so by the Board, conduct studies, make recommendations to the Board and act in an advisory capacity, but shall not take action on behalf of the Board. |
||
|
All committees shall comply with the Open Meetings Act by providing notices of each meeting, posting the time and date of each meeting, providing for a period of public participation, and recording appropriate minutes of the meeting. A committee may conduct a closed meeting providing it is for one (1) of the purposes described in Bylaw 0167 and the committee abides by all requirements for the conduct of a closed meeting. A committee may meet in closed session to review the specific contents of an employment application provided when the applicant for employment requests that the information remains confidential. It may not, however, meet in closed session to protect an applicant's identity. |

A. |
The President is authorized to appoint as soon after the organizational meeting as practicable, members of the Board to standing committees where they shall serve a term of one (1) year. |
|
B. |
Ad hoc committees may be created and charged at any time by the President or a majority of the members present at any meeting at which the need for a committee becomes evident, or the Superintendent with the approval of the Board. |
|
|
C. |
Members of ad hoc committees shall serve until the committee is discharged. |
|
|
D. |
The Superintendent shall serve as an ex-officio member of each committee. |

Terms of Reference - Building and Site Committee |
|
|
The Building and Site Committee has the responsibility for advising the Board of Education on specific aspects relating to planning and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education in accordance with the law and the policies of the Board. |

|
In particular, but not limited to, the Committee will: |
||
|
A. |
Review and discuss studies, reports and recommendations on relevant facilities matters that may be brought by the administration. |
|
|
B. |
Review the design of new buildings and additions or alternations to existing buildings or grounds. |
|
|
C. |
Review facility needs plan with respect to the student population and the provision of education, including existing and future school facility and property needs, ongoing maintenance, and acquisition of property. |
|
|
D. |
Monitor and review relevant Board policies relating to the facilities planning, naming schools and school facilities, commemoration of school facilities, property maintenance, inventory and security, and use of school facilities (7000). |

Terms of Reference - Business and Finance Committee |

|
The Business and Finance Committee has the responsibility for advising the Board of Education on specific aspects relating to finances, property, school safety, food services and transportation of the Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education in accordance with the law and the policies of the Board. |

|
In particular, but not limited to, the Committee will: |
|||
|
A. |
Monitor and review the District's annual budgets, including supporting documentation. |
||
|
B. |
Review the District's long range budget projection as needed. |
||
|
C. |
Review and discuss studies, reports and recommendations on relevant business and financial matters including property, school safety, food services and transportation that may be brought by the administration. |
||
|
D. |
Act as the District's audit committee to oversee the following: |
||
|
1. |
Review of annual audit report |
||
|
2. |
Monitor the District's compliance with all Federal and State reporting requirements |

|

Terms of Reference - Curriculum Committee |
||
|
The Curriculum Committee has the responsibility for advising the Board of Education on specific aspects relating to the quality of all educational programs and services of the Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education, both curricular and extra-curricular, in accordance with the law and the policies of the Board. |

|
In particular, but not limited to, the Committee will: |
|||
|
A. |
Review and discuss studies, reports and recommendations on education programs and services that may be brought by the administration (new courses, program evaluation, compliance, extra and co-curricular). |
||
|
B. |
Review the District Curriculum Council process as needed. |
||
|
C. |
Review the Technology Plan and instructional technology in the classroom as needed. |
|

Terms of Reference - Personnel Committee |
|
|
The Personnel Committee has the responsibility for advising the Board of Education on the specific aspects of personnel matters of the Chippewa Valley Schools Board of Education in accordance with the law and the policies of the Board. |

|
In particular, but not limited to, the Committee will: |
||
|
A. |
Periodically review and monitor the hiring process. |
|
|
B. |
Provide an opportunity to discuss staff reorganization and/or reassignments from time-to-time. |
|
|
C. |
Provide an opportunity to discuss the need for additional staff and/or reductions. |
