If an employee takes an unauthorized absence for any reason, his/her salary will be reduced by an amount equal to his/her daily rate of pay. The daily rate of pay will be computed by dividing the number of days in that contract into the annual salary. If, in the opinion of the Board of Education, such absence is excessive or flagrant, it shall be considered to be a breach of contract.

Unauthorized absence refers to those days of absence when an employee is out of school for a reason contrary to law or policy and will not receive pay.
