5215 - MISSING AND ABSENT CHILDREN

It is the intent of this Board of Education to cooperate with local, State, and National efforts to decrease the number of missing children.

The Superintendent is instructed to promulgate administrative guidelines to accomplish the following:

 

A.

Develop informational programs for students, parents, and community members relative to missing children issues and matters.

   
 

B.

Consider admittance of a student lacking records into the school followed by notification of the police rather than refusing entrance and notification of authorities. Such a procedure may reduce the risk of removal of the student from the area.

   
 

C.

Utilize materials from the State Department of Education for the informational program.
