2451 - ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL

The Board of Education recognizes that the regular high school program may not be appropriate for all students. There are those who need an education but are unable or unwilling to participate properly in the District's established program.

The Board shall provide an opportunity for an alternative high school education program for all students who, in the opinion of the Superintendent, will benefit from this special program.

Young people, between the ages of sixteen (16) and twenty (20) and not currently enrolled in the District, may also attend upon meeting enrollment conditions prescribed by the Superintendent.

The Board shall not allow a student who is being educated in an alternative high school education program to participate in the District's athletic program or the extra-curricular activities.
