Development of Board Bylaws and Policies |

| Your NEOLA® Associate will: | |
| Analyze the minutes of Board meetings for the past five years as well as current district policies and other pertinent school district documents. | |
| Identify gaps in policies. | |
| Separate procedural matter from policy. | |
| Summarize current policy strengths and weaknesses. | |
| Discuss the status report with school district personnel. |

| Your NEOLA® Associate will: |
|
| Provide templates of generic policies that reflect the best thinking of consultants and legal counsel in all states where NEOLA® operates. |
|
| Work with District staff to customize the templates to meet each District's special needs. | |
| Provide templates that comply with State and Federal laws. | |
| Provide templates that contain citations from statutes and regulations of both State and Federal law. |
|
| NEOLA® publishes two regular Updates per year that include proposed revisions to policy, guidelines/procedures, and/or forms that are based on changes in Federal and State law, government regulations and school practices. | |
| NEOLA® will publish special Updates when legislative action requires Districts to make policy decisions that cannot wait until the next regular Update. | |
| Your NEOLA® Associate will meet with the designated District representative(s) for up to two hours to review the update packet and answer questions about the proposed revisions. |
