The School Board of Brevard County welcomes responsible media organizations to report and promote the District's student athletic competitions. The School Board of Brevard County is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association and as such is subject to the rules and regulations in place regarding the release of information about Florida High School Athletic Association business and activities, the issuance of media credentials and broadcast rights for radio and television to Florida High School Athletic Association State Series contests, as well as general operating procedures for news media at Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship events. All other regular season athletic competitions shall be governed by this policy as the Florida High School Athletic Association does not control the media’s reporting of regular season events. Print editors and broadcast directors should carefully review Florida High School Athletic Association policies and procedures applicable to their organization regarding State Series events and this policy and its administrative guidelines regarding non-State series athletic contest events.

The Superintendent shall develop administrative guidelines for the granting of responsible media organizations with the right to broadcast athletic contests.
