When it becomes necessary to employ support personnel on a temporary basis, such employment is on a limited-time basis for the purpose of filling a vacancy for which a regular employee cannot be found, or to perform some task of a temporary nature. This employment shall end at the close of the school term, at the end of the fiscal year, or at the time when the temporary task is completed and may not be for a period less than twenty (20) paid days.

Support substitutes shall be paid in accordance with the established salary schedule. A substitute shall be paid on an hourly basis for the actual hours worked, not to exceed the number of hours required of the position for which the employee is substituting.

Temporary employees are persons employed for an approved position requiring a regular daily schedule to which they are temporarily assigned for a period not to exceed one (1) day less than four (4) calendar months.
