Reports To: Executive officer of the Board and is therefore directly responsible to the Board.
General Duties
Administers, supervises, directs, and evaluates the total school program.
Duties
| A. | Serve as the Board's chief executive officer. | ||
| B. | Be the Board's professional advisor in all matters and recommend appropriate school policies for its consideration. | ||
| C. | Implement and execute all policies adopted by the Board. | ||
| D. | Keep the Board fully and accurately informed about the school program. | ||
| E. | Interpret and communicate to the Board the needs of the school system. | ||
| F. | Present professional recommendations on all problems and issues considered by the Board. | ||
| G. | Exercise a leadership role in the improvement of instruction. | ||
| H. | Be alert to advances and improvements in educational programs wherever they may be found. | ||
| I. | Lead in the development and operation of adequate school-community relations. | ||
| J. | Promote the school system within the community it serves, the county and the State. | ||
| K. | Recommend highly qualified candidates for appointments to the school staff. | ||
| L. | Recommend priorities for expenditures of District funds. | ||
| M. | Present for its consideration an annual budget that is designed to serve the needs of the school system. | ||
| N. | Coordinate his/her fiscal responsibility with that of the Treasurer in the financial planning and operation of the District. | ||
| O. | Assume responsibility for performance evaluation of all members of the staff, except the Treasurer. | ||
| P. | Assume other duties as determined by the Board. |
