3220.01 - EVALUATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL
To ensure the effectiveness and competence of administrative staff members, the Board of Education requires the Superintendent to establish and maintain a program of regular evaluation of administrative staff members.
For purposes of this policy "administrative staff members" shall include personnel holding the following positions: Assistant Superintendent, Director of Business Affairs, Director of Special Services, Supervisor of Secondary Education, Supervisor of Elementary Education, Building Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Director of Glenview Center of Child Care and Learning, Supervisor of Food Service, Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, Coordinator of Transportation and any future administrative positions that may be created.
The Board directs that evaluation of each administrative staff member be performed at least annually. Each evaluation shall relate, but not be limited, to the duties specified in his/her job description.
The Superintendent shall develop procedures for the conduct of administrative evaluations which include:
| A. | individual conferences with each administrator to review proposed job targets and to review procedures for evaluation; | ||
| B. | collection of pertinent information and data from a variety of sources in addition to on-the-job observations; | ||
| C. | the administrator's own written self-evaluation; | ||
| D. | the joint review of his/her job description by each administrator and supervisor; | ||
| E. | identification of each administrator's: |
| 1. | areas of strengths and weaknesses with suggestions for improvement; | |||
| 2. | job targets; | |||
| 3. | potential for performance enhancement; | |||
| 4. | professional development goals; | |||
| 5. | career aspirations. |
The administrator shall have the right to submit a written disclaimer of the evaluation following the conference which disclaimer shall be attached to the supervisor's evaluation report.
The Superintendent shall ensure that evaluations of administrators are conducted in accordance with Board policy and State statute. In order to provide time to show progress in correcting deficiencies identified in the evaluation, the completed evaluation shall be shown to evaluatee at least sixty (60) days prior to any action by the Board on the administrative staff member's contract of employment.
