3124.01 - EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT FOR ADMINISTRATORS
In accordance with law and for the mutual protection of the Board of Education and the administrative staff member, every administrator shall be required to enter into a written employment contract.
Initial employment contracts for administrators may not exceed three (3) years in duration; following three (3) years of District employment, the term of subsequent contracts shall be no less than two (2) years nor more than five (5). Contracts will be automatically renewed for a period of two (2) years if the Board does not act upon renewal. If the Superintendent so recommends, the term of the contract of a person who has been employed by the School District as an Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Principal, or other administrator for three (3) or more years, may be one (1) year, but all subsequent contracts shall be not less than two (2) years or more than five (5) years.
Each employment contract shall include:
| A. | the administrative position and duties, | ||
| B. | the salary and other compensation to be paid, | ||
| C. | the number of days to be worked, | ||
| D. | the number of days of vacation, | ||
| E. | the term for which employment is contracted, including beginning and ending date, and | ||
| F. | the intervals at which the salary will be paid. |
When included in an individual contract approved by the board, an administrator may be paid on an annual basis for accrued but unused vacation leave. The number of days paid per year will be limited as approved in the individual employment contract.
| A. | The administrator will request payment in the month of August annually or other month as determined by the district Treasurer. | ||
| B. | The Treasurer will authorize the payment and number of accrued days to be paid (Superintendent will authorize for any payment to Treasurer). | ||
| C. | Payment will be in a lump sum and the days paid will be removed from accrued vacation leave for the administrator. |
