2330 - HOMEWORK

The Board of Education recognizes the value of homework for students. We believe it should be related to the school's mission and the District philosophy of education and be an outgrowth of classroom activities.

The assignment of homework shall be regular and reasonable. Because study skills are developed from an early age, homework assignments shall begin at a minimal level in the first (1st) grade and expand gradually as students progress through school.

In order to create uniformity of practice, both among and within the schools, appropriate administrative guidelines shall be developed for the benefit of all professional personnel.

As a valid educational tool, homework shall be clearly assigned and its product carefully evaluated.
