5600.02 - STUDENT DISCIPLINE – EXPULSION
Students who:
| A. | commit arson or rape on District property, in a District vehicle or at a District related activity; | ||
| B. | possess a dangerous weapon on District property, in a District vehicle or at a District related activity; | ||
| C. | are in grade 6 and above and commit a physical or verbal assault against a school employee, volunteer, or contractor on District property, in a District vehicle, or at a District related activity; | ||
| D. | are in grade 6 and above and commit a physical assault against another student at school; | ||
| E. | are in grade 6 and above and make bomb threats or other similar threats directed at a school building or other school property; | ||
| F. | are subject to expulsion proceedings consistent with the student’s due process rights and State and Federal laws. |
Physical assault means intentionally causing or attempting to cause physical harm to another through force or violence.
Verbal assault means any willful spoken threat to inflict physical injury on another person, under circumstances which creates a reasonable fear of imminent injury, coupled with the apparent ability to inflict injury.
