2271.01 - ACQUISITION OF NONTRADITIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT

The District recognizes that our society is moving away from a given school building serving as the repository for all learning to a more fluid, anytime/anyplace electronic delivery system for the teaching-learning process. To that end, the District supports nontraditional acquisition of high school credit.

Students so inclined need to pre-register with their respective guidance counselor. Coursework covered by this policy is limited to courses offered at the high school. High school credit will be awarded upon the student passing the final exam of the high school course. While the accrued credit will count toward graduation and discipline sequences, there will be no effect upon cumulative grade point average or class rank. The grade of "passing" will be noted on the student's transcript. Students must maintain full-time status while pursuing these experiences.
