5460.01 - GRADUATION POLICY FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS
WHEREAS,
A student who resides in the local or city school districts of Auglaize County, and who has completed an appropriate educational program as specified in his/her Individualized Education Program, will be eligible to receive an official diploma from and have the opportunity to participate in the graduation exercises in his/her home school or the school district in which their classroom is housed. Said diploma shall be the responsibility of the home district.
Participation in graduation ceremonies and acceptance of an official diploma constitutes the conclusion of school-aged educational services.
To participate in graduation and accept a diploma, the parents and/or student must have a signed Individual Educational Plan on file indicating such. The decision to participate in graduation must be finalized on or before the last day of the first nine (9) weeks of the school year in which graduation will occur.
