In accordance with statute, all employees who present evidence of retirement from active service with the County Governing Board shall be granted severance pay for their accrued but unused sick leave days.

The Board authorizes the payment to a retiring employee of the Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center of his/her unused sick leave days to a maximum of one-fourth (1/4) of his/her accumulated sick leave.

For purposes of this policy "retirement" means retirement under State Teachers Retirement System and does not include disability retirement.
