4434 - HOLIDAYS

All regular full-time personnel whether salaried or compensated on an hourly or per diem basis are entitled to their salary or pay for the following holidays:

 

New Years Day (January 1)

 

Martin Luther King Day (second Monday in January)

 

Good Friday

 

Memorial Day (last Monday in May or actual Memorial Day)

 

Independence Day (July 4)

 

Labor Day (first Monday in September)

 

Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)

 

Day after Thanksgiving

 

Christmas Day (December 25)

When Good Friday is a day when students (secondary or adult) are not scheduled to have classes.

In addition, Christmas Eve (December 24) will be considered a holiday if it falls during the normal work week. No additional time off will be given if Christmas Eve falls on Saturday or Sunday.

The Superintendent may require the classified staff member to work on a holiday when, in his/her opinion, failure to do so would impair public safety.
