The Board of Education recognizes its responsibility to procure the services of substitute employees in order to prevent the impermissible abatement of the operation of the schools.

The names of potential substitute personnel and the positions in which they may substitute shall be maintained by the Superintendent.

The Superintendent shall recruit, interview, and recommend to the Board suitable candidates for substitute employment. S/He shall also develop methods of evaluating substitutes and shall recommend the retention on the approved list of only those substitutes who have performed satisfactorily.
