3430.03 - APPROVAL OF LEAVES
All requests for leave shall be submitted on the proper form and shall be approved as provided in this policy.
Approval by the Board
The following types of leave require a recommendation by the Superintendent and approval of the Board:
| A. | extended health leave or disability leave, including maternity leave in excess of nine (9) days | |
| B. | military leave in excess of seventeen (17) days | |
| C. | personal leave in excess of nine (9) days | |
| D. | illness-in-line-of-duty leave | |
| E. | leave to seek political office | |
| F. | professional leave in excess of ten (10) days | |
| G. | sabbatical leave | |
| H. | family and medical leave | |
| I. | jury or witness duty in excess of fifteen (15) days | |
| J. | temporary duty elsewhere in excess of five (5) days |
Approval by the Superintendent
The Superintendent is authorized to grant the following types of leave:
| A. | sick leave up to nine (9) days | |
| B. | military leave up to seventeen (17) days | |
| C. | personal leave up to nine (9) days | |
| D. | annual leave (vacation leave) | |
| E. | professional leave up to ten (10) days | |
| F. | jury or witness duty up to fifteen (15) days | |
| G. | temporary duty elsewhere not to exceed five (5) days |
