The Board recognizes that the regular school program may not be appropriate for all students and that certain students may need special programs to help them overcome attendance, academic, and/or behavioral problems.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to provide alternative education programs for students who will benefit from this education option. These programs shall be established so that procedures are met for requesting State funding for program implementation, whenever applicable. The Superintendent will establish administrative procedures for each alternative program.
