2340.01 - NON-SCHOOL RELATED TRAVEL
The following provisions shall apply to trips in which students and teachers voluntarily and individually participate and which are NOT sponsored, endorsed, or supported by the Board.
| A. | The Board does not assume liability in any way for any staff member, volunteer, or parent of the District who takes students on trips that are not sponsored, endorsed, or supported by the Board or Superintendent. | ||
| B. | Trips shall be organized between the individual participants and any sponsoring agency, and that relationship shall be expressed in descriptive literature. | ||
| C. | The Board shall not be involved in the curriculum, itinerary, or selection of advisors for the trip. | ||
| D. | Promotional activities and literature shall not include the name of the individual school or the Board and shall not be distributed through the school. | ||
| E. | District facilities may not be used for planning, advertising, or recruiting for such trips. | ||
| F. | Participation in such travel by employees and students shall be subject to the District's leave and attendance policies. | ||
| G. | Violation of this policy by an employee shall be grounds for disciplinary action. |
