5420.01 - ELECTRONIC GRADE ENTRY

The academic achievement of students shall be reported in terms of progress marks aligns to well-defined instructional goals and objectives.

To provide continuous feedback on student performance, progress marks will be issued on a regular basis. Marks will be given on the basis of a student’s progress toward established course objectives. The instructional staff is responsible for determining and communicating subject progress marks for students. Staff members must be prepared to provide necessary and appropriate documentation to justify progress marks issued to students. Staff must follow the District’s grading system.

The teacher of record will:

 A.be responsible for entering grades, citizenship marks and semester exam grades (grades 6-12) electronically for their students for each marking period;

 B.enter grades, citizenship marks and semester exam grades within the identified grade entry window;

 C.participate in professional development focusing on electronic grade entry;

 D.refrain from providing his/her log-on, password and/or employee ID to anyone for any reason especially with the intent of entering or falsifying grades.

In the absence of the teacher of record, the principal or his/her designee will enter grades electronically. After the identified grade entry window has closed, the principal or his/her designee will make all grade corrections.

The teacher of record is responsible for the use of his/her account password. Problems arising from the use of a staff member’s account are the responsibility of the account holder. Use of a password by someone other than the password holder is forbidden.
