3411 - PLACEMENT ON SALARY SCHEDULE
The Board of Education retains the authority to specify the salary of new positions and to determine the credit to be awarded for placement on the District's salary schedule in accordance with the provisions of the Ohio Revised Code. Pursuant to statute, credit will be given for active military service in the Armed Forces of the United States up to a maximum of five (5) years.In addition, the Superintendent has discretionary authority to credit past teaching or administrative service in:
| A. | a private school located in any other State or U.S. territory; | ||
| B. | an overseas dependent school operated by the U.S. Armed Forces; | ||
| C. | a school approved by the State Department of Education and operated by a State agency; | ||
| D. | a college, university, or related work experience. |
In no instance shall the maximum number of years of service credit awarded exceed ten (10).
