The high school graduation examination shall be administered beginning in the 2002-2003 school year to all 11^th and 12^th grade students in the District, including students enrolled in charter schools located within the District’s boundaries. The examination shall be administered at least twice each year.

A student’s score on the high school graduation examination will be recorded on the student’s official transcript.

The Board directs the District Administrator to prepare a list of specific criteria for granting a high school diploma which includes the student’s score on the graduation examination, the student’s academic performance, and the recommendations of teachers, including the statutory credit requirements and any additional Board-approved credit requirements. The criteria shall be submitted for Board approval prior to September 1, 2002.

The Board, beginning with the Spring graduation of 2004, will grant a high school diploma only to those students who have satisfied the approved graduation criteria.
