5460.01 - GRADUATION EXAMINATION
For Unified, Union High and K-12 District
The high school graduation examination shall be administered beginning in the 2002-2003 school year to all 11th and 12th grade students in the District, including students enrolled in charter schools located within the District’s boundaries. The examination shall be administered at least twice each year.
A student’s score on the high school graduation examination will be recorded on the student’s official transcript.
The Board directs the District Administrator to prepare a list of specific criteria for granting a high school diploma which includes the student’s score on the graduation examination, the student’s academic performance, and the recommendations of teachers, including the statutory credit requirements and any additional Board-approved credit requirements. The criteria shall be submitted for Board approval prior to September 1, 2002.
The Board, beginning with the Spring graduation of 2004, will grant a high school diploma only to those students who have satisfied the approved graduation criteria.
