4430 - LEAVES OF ABSENCE
When not otherwise covered by the terms of a Negotiated Agreement, the Board of Education delegates to the Superintendent the responsibility to determine whether to grant a leave of absence of up to one (1) year's time. Any request for a leave of absence of one (1) year or more shall be submitted to the Board.
Any employee granted a leave of absence shall be considered to have terminated all work with the District until completion of the leave. Exceptions may be made by the Superintendent in cases where the best interests of the District might be served.
The Superintendent shall prepare appropriate administrative guidelines for this policy.
