2340 - SCHOOL-RELATED FIELD TRIPS
A field trip will be approved only when related to the instructional program of the school. The teacher shall direct the request for a field trip to the principal. The request shall show how the field trip will be of educational benefit to the students and shall disclose all terms, conditions, and details of the trip. All field trips must take place in a safe and secure learning environment.
| A. | All out-of-state field trips must be approved by the School Board. | ||
| B. | All field trips requiring fund-raising in excess of $10,000 must have Board approval before fund-raising begins. | ||
| C. | Transportation costs of field trips shall be paid from District and/or school budgets. No student shall be excluded based on inability to pay. | ||
| D. | A trip which is not directly related to the instructional program but which is related to a school-sponsored or connected activity shall be considered an extra-curricular trip. | ||
| E. | The Superintendent shall develop administrative procedures to be followed relating to educational field trips and extra-curricular trips. |
